Plastic Barrier BIB Packaging Films

Plastic Bag-in-Box or BIB is a type of container for the storage and transportation of liquids but it is not a new concept packaging solution. It consists of a strong bladder(or plastic bag), usually made of multi-layer co-extruded film or other plastics, seated inside a corrugated board box. End-users appreciate the fact that they can pour the liquid of the packaging easily from a tap into a glass or another container and do not have to finish the entire package in one go, as the beverage remains sealed and fresh inside the bag.

Multi-layer co-extruded plastic packaging films are used for the production of Bag-in-Box (BIB) outer and inner liners as they have excellent barrier properties and ensure delicate liquids (and also chemicals) are kept safe from oxygen and light. The Bag-in-Box films are made of EVOH barrier material, high performance polyolefins and ties.

Because of the light weight packaging, less energy and raw materials are used in production and transportation which results in reduced emissions and wasting.
